After Shift Beers SOP
Procedure #: HB SOP 13
Function: Team Member Polices
Implementation Date: 040123
Policy/Purpose: Hillman Beer team members are entitled to “after” shift beers as a ‘thank you’ for their hard work and dedication. The limit is two per day whether working or not. Team members will be held to the same standards as our guests and not be over served. (Only Hillman beer draft products are part of the “after” shift beer and no outside products are allowed.) Team members are encouraged to enjoy their beverages responsibly and to prioritize a safe environment for everyone. For those interested in understanding how to maintain responsible consumption, the beer addition procedures explained will be provided during team training sessions. It is essential that all team members abide by these guidelines to ensure a positive experience for both staff and guests.
Procedure:
- The team member clocks out and removes or covers up any Hillman logo they have on from their uniform.
- The team member must wait in line, like other guests, and request a shift beer to be poured by the Service Leader. Crowlers are allowed (up to 2 per day) and must be provided by the Service Leader, as well. Team members must never pour their own shift beers.
- The Service Leader will start the team members tab (by last name; i.e. HB Hillman and one tab for every team member) and ring every beer poured or food item onto that tab. If a team member requests a third beer, the service leader must obtain a credit card to start a tab. No tabs can be started without a card.
Note: Shift beer is only for Hillman Beer team members. If they are with friends/family, a separate tab must be started and they will pay full price. Additionally, team members should remember to follow the calling off a work shift process when they are unable to fulfill their scheduled hours. This ensures that all shifts are adequately covered and that the team can continue to operate smoothly. It’s important to communicate any changes to your availability in a timely manner to avoid any disruptions.
- At the end of the shift the Service Leader will comp the tab to “Staff Beverage.”
Note: Intoxication, including loud, argumentative or obnoxious behavior, will not be tolerated and will result in disciplinary action.
