Policy/Purpose: Trace & Correct is Hillman Beer’s method of maintaining accountability and imparting solution-based problem solving.  Hillman Beer has established standards and templates for ordering, scheduling, operating etc, which leaves very little room for human error.  Of course, there are unforeseen circumstances, and when they occur there is an opportunity to trace the root of the problem and correct it moving forward.  

Procedure: 

1. The manager must identify the problem and alert the Hillman staff members that need to be aware, including Operations Manager & COO.  
2. The manager must identify the repercussions of the problem and take action to fix the issues in real time.
3. The manager must trace the root of the problem by methodically evaluating the choices and actions that created the issue.
4. The manager must work with the team to correct the problem by making a plan for the future, so that the issue doesn’t occur again.  
5. The manager must report back with the solutions to the Hillman staff members that were aware of the issue, including Operations Manager & COO.
