Keg Purchase by Team Member SOP
Procedure#: HB SOP 19
Function:Employee Policies
Implementation Date: 041024
Policy/ Purpose: Hillman Beer extends the opportunity for team members to purchase 2 sixtels or 1 half barrel of Hillman Beer per calendar quarter at 50% off of retail price. The keg purchase must only be for personal use – never to sell the beer. Team members interested in taking advantage of this discount must follow the retail keg purchasing process, which includes submitting a request through the designated online portal. All purchases are subject to availability, and team members are encouraged to plan ahead to secure their desired quantities. It is important to note that these purchases are intended solely for personal enjoyment and should not be distributed to others. Additionally, team members should familiarize themselves with the team member meal policy overview to understand the benefits available to them while enjoying Hillman Beer products on premises. This ensures that all team members can make the most of their purchases while adhering to company guidelines. Remember, responsible consumption is encouraged to maintain a positive atmosphere within our team.
Procedure:
- The team member must gain approval from their General manager or Leadership team member 3 days prior to purchasing the keg(s). Once alerted that the team member would like to purchase a keg, the manager must gain approval from the Operations Manager and/or Head Brewer. Note: the team member has a choice of 5 beers: OFO Lager, Kolsch, Hazy, IPA and ESB. If the team member would like to purchase anything other than these listed beers, they must gain special approval from the Head Brewer.
- Team members must put down a $75 per keg deposit. The deposit will be reimbursed after the empty keg is brought back to the brewery.
- The keg purchase must be rung into the POS by the GM, AGM or Operations Manager. Note: A keg pump is not included in the purchase and not available to rent or borrow.
- At the time of the purchase, the team member and manager must fill out the ‘Acknowledgement of Keg Purchase by Team Member’ form, which can be found in the PDF folder under forms in the Google Drive. A copy of the receipt must be stapled to the form and kept on file.
- When the keg is returned, the manager or Beertender 1 will do a “Paid Out” in Toast and return the $75 in cash to the team member.
